Turned out to be a cheap fix, sharing in case anyone else panics

Posting this because I spent two weeks convinced my gearbox was dying and it turned out to be something completely minor. My Camry started jerking on acceleration and I'd already mentally prepared myself for a transmission rebuild, which would have been more than the car's worth honestly. Before booking anything I did some reading and found a helpful guide on why your car jerks when you accelerate that mentioned worn spark plugs and dirty injectors as common culprits, which I'd dismissed because the car had been serviced recently. Took it to a garage anyway and turns out one of the ignition coils was on its way out, causing a misfire under load. Replaced it along with the plugs and the jerking is completely gone, cost me a fraction of what I'd feared. Point is, don't assume the worst straight away like I did. Get it looked at properly before you start shopping for a new car.
